Croker, now Sub-Sheriff of County Clare, and officiating at the evictions at Bodyke, is the same Captain Croker who was Governor of the Central Prison, Cyprus, and dismissed by Lord Derby for pecuniary irregularities, and is still an uncertificated bankrupt; and, if so, whether the Lord Lieutenant will cause inquiry to be made of the Sheriff of Clare as to Captain Croker's appointment?
