HC Deb 09 June 1887 vol 315 c1433
DR. TINDAL ROBERTSON (Brighton)

asked the Secretary of State for War, If, in commemoration of Her Majesty's Jubilee, he will recommend that a few extra Queen's cadetships be granted during the present year?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE (Mr. E. STANHOPE) (Lincolnshire, Horncastle)

The establishment of Queen's cadets is limited, and the nominations granted have hitherto been found sufficient to meet the claims of all who were eligible for the boon. Under these circumstances, His Royal Highness the Commander-in-Chief does not see any sufficient ground for recommending an increase in the number of Queen's cadet-ships in connection with the Jubilee.
