HC Deb 07 June 1887 vol 315 c1219
MR. DILLON (Mayo, E.)

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, When the Report of the Poor Relief (Ireland) Inquiry Commission will be circulated; and, when he will be in a position to state what action the Government propose to take in reference to the matters dealt with in this Report? The hon. Member observed that since the Question had been put down the Report of the Commission had been circulated.

THE CHIEF SECRETARY (Mr. A. J. BALFOUR) (Manchester, E.)

As the ton. Member has observed, the Report has been circulated. I am closely watching the course of events in the Unions, and shall be prepared to state in a few days the nature of the steps which the Government think necessary to take under the circumstances.
