asked the Lord Advocate, By whom the expenses for the board, lodging, &c. of the additional troops specially stationed at Hamilton during the Blantyre Riots are to be defrayed?

in reply, said, the officer commanding this regiment had, he was informed, received directions to pay the regulation allowance to the innkeepers on whom the troops were billeted.
