asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether his attention has been called to a statement in The Standard, to the effect that— An enterprising Englishman, named Tweedy, who is engaged in the Black Sea coasting trade, has been ordered by the Minister of Finance to discontinue his operations or become a Russian subject; whether such statement is correct; and, if so, whether such treatment is within the competence of the.Russian Government; and, whether he will use his influence to protect Mr. Tweedy in the matter?
