HC Deb 08 July 1887 vol 317 c214
MR. HANBURY (Preston)

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies, Whether any decision has now been arrived at with reference to the charge alleged against Sir John Pope Hennessy; and, whether, in any case, he will undertake to announce a decision in time for the subject to be discussed on the Estimates, if necessary?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE (Sir HENRY HOLLAND) (Hampstead)

I have had under my careful consideration the voluminous Papers in regard to the charges alleged against Sir John Pope Hennessy, as well as his statements and explanations in reply to them, and I hope to be able to announce the decision early next week.
