§ THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. W. H. SMITH) (Strand, Westminster)said, he had already informed the House that he was awiting the results of the conferences which were being held with gentlemen who were interested in this measure, in the hope that those conferences would dispose of a very large number of Amendments. He hoped he should be able to name a day for the resumption of the Committee stage after the second reading of the Irish Land Law Bill.
