HC Deb 31 January 1887 vol 310 c263
MR. HOWELL (Bethnal Green, N. E.)

asked the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether the Government has considered the question addressed to the Chancellor of the Exchequer last Session, as to the advisability of introducing a Bill during the present Session to Consolidate and Codify the Criminal Law; and, whether it is the intention of Her Majesty's Government to introduce a Bill with that object this Session?

THE FIRST LORD (Mr. W. H. SMITH) (Strand, Westminster)

It is not the intention of the Government to introduce a Bill during this Session to consolidate and codify the Criminal Law; but certain proposals with regard to the amendment of the Criminal Law will be brought before Parliament.
