HC Deb 25 February 1887 vol 311 c582
MR. E. ROBERTSON (Dundee)

asked the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether the Government intend to adhere to the promise given in 1885 by the Government of the day, on the Vote for an Annuity to the Princess Beatrice, that a Committee should be appointed to consider the question of Grants to Members of the Royal Family?

THE FIRST LORD (Mr. W. H. SMITH) (Strand, Westminster)

I only saw the Question on the Paper to-day, and on a question of this character I must ask the hon. Member to afford me an opportunity of conferring with my Colleagues. I will state the course the Government will take very shortly.
