HC Deb 25 February 1887 vol 311 cc566-7
COLONEL HUGHES-HALLETT (Rochester)

asked the Secretary of State for War, When the Report of the Royal Commission on Warlike Stores, of which Sir James Stephen is President, will be published; if it will contain the evidence of witnesses in full, or only in part; and, whether there is a likelihood of its being in the hands of hon. Members before the Army Estimates come on for discussion?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE (Mr. E. STANHOPE) (Lincolnshire, Horncastle)

I would remind my hon. and gallant Friend that I have absolutely no control over the deliberations of the Royal Commission, or over the form of their Re-port, and that any interference on my part would be most improper. But I am informed that they are likely to report shortly; and I will undertake that there shall be the least possible delay between the completion of the Report and its presentation to Parliament.
