HC Deb 22 February 1887 vol 311 c292
CAPTAIN M'CALMONT (Antrim, E.)

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether, after John Byen had been brutally murdered at Ballycar, County Clare, the contractor to the Ennis Infirmary refused to supply a coffin; whether it was impossible to get one provided in Ennis; and, whether it was necessary to procure one from Dublin in which to remove the unfortunate man's remains?

THE CHIEF SECRETARY (Sir MICHAEL HICKS-BEACH) (Bristol, W.)

Yes, Sir; I am sorry to say the statements contained in the Question are true.
