§ SIR JULIAN GOLDSMID (St. Pancras, S.)asked the First Commissioner of Works, Whether he intends to proceed with the new Admiralty and War Office buildings?
§ THE FIRST COMMISSIONER (Mr. PLUNKET) (Dublin University)A Committee of the House of Commons was unanimously appointed last April to reconsider the whole question of the new Admiralty and War Office buildings, and in consequence of that decision under-takings were given to Parliament by my Predecessor and by myself that no building operations should be proceeded with until the Committee should have reported. That Committee lapsed with the dissolution of the last Parliament. But it is the intention of the Government to propose the appointment of a similar Committee this Session, and I hope that the Motion for that purpose will be made within a few days.
