HC Deb 10 February 1887 vol 310 c1083
MR. CALDWELL (Glasgow, St. Rollox)

asked the Secretary for Scotland, The number of children attending State-aided and non-State-aided schools in Scotland, when School Boards came into operation in 1873, and the number of children attending State-aided and non-State-aided schools in Scotland in 1885?

THE SECRETARY FOR SCOTLAND (Mr. A. J. BALFOUR) (Manchester, E.)

Certain statistics in regard to the first point upon which information is desired were given by the Board of Education in their first Report. As the Department have only statistics relating to inspected schools, I fear that I cannot give the information desired as to the comparative statistics.
