HC Deb 07 February 1887 vol 310 cc755-6
SIR WILLIAM CROSSMAN (Portsmouth)

asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether it has been decided to dispose of the premises at Portsmouth now occupied by the Commanding Royal Engineers of the Southern District; if so, whether the Corporation of Portsmouth will be allowed to purchase the property at a valuation; and, if not required by the Corporation, how the property will be disposed of, whether by public auction or otherwise?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE (MR. E. STANHOPE) (Lincolnshire, Horncastle)

The property in question will be sold by public tender; and the Corporation of Portsmouth will have the same opportunity of tendering as will be afforded to private individuals.
