HC Deb 04 February 1887 vol 310 c648
MR. CHANCE (Kilkenny, S.)

asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether Mr. Hill, of the Foreign Office, has made a Report of the result of his investigations made last year into the case of Mr. Frederick B. Coles, imprisoned by the Haytian Government, and into the cases of other British subjects having claims upon that Government; and, if so, whether that Report will be laid upon the Table of the House?

THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE (Sir JAMES FERGUSSON) (Manchester, E.)

Mr. Hill has made a Report on the case of Mr. F. B. Coles, and on the cases of other British claimants in Hayti. Some of the claims have not yet been disposed of, and Her Majesty's Government do not propose to present any Papers on the subject, as the negotiations are still pending.
