§ THE SECRETARY OF STATE (Mr. MATTHEWS) (Birmingham, E.)The In- 655 specters have no power to compel owners to give them information as to the number of days on which each mine draw coal or ironstone, so it would be futile for me to give them instructions which they would be unable to carry out. I will, however, bear in mind the hon. Member's suggestion, and consult the Inspectors on the subject.
