HC Deb 26 August 1887 vol 320 cc24-5
MR. FINUCANE (Limerick, E.)

asked Mr. Attorney General for Ireland, Whether at the eviction of a Mr. O'Connor, a tenant on the Limerick property of Mr. Delmege, on yesterday, only a portion of the tenant's furniture was removed; and, whether, at an eviction where all the furniture has been removed by the Sheriff, legal possession has been obtained? The hon. Gentleman said the last paragrah was misprinted. The word "all" should be "only apart of."

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR IRELAND (Mr. GIBSON) (Liverpool, Walton)

declined to answer, on the ground that to reply would be to give private legal advice to the tenant. He was sure hon. Members would object to his giving, in the form of answers to Questions, such advice to landlords.
