HC Deb 22 August 1887 vol 319 c1371
MR. JUSTIN M'CARTHY (Londonderry City)

asked the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether the Government intend to take any steps to carry out the recommendation of the Irish Executive with reference to an increase of salaries to the chaplains and surgeons of Irish prisons?

THE FIRST LORD (Mr. W. H. SMITH) (Strand, Westminster)

I must refer the hon. Gentleman to the answer given on a previous occasion to a similar Question on the 26th of July, which was to the effect that a final decision could not be come to before the Estimates were prepared.
