§ MR. J. O'CONNOR (Kerry, S.)
asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland a Question of which he had given him private Notice. It was, Whether he could give any informa- 1114 tion to the House relative to the reported conflict between the police and the people at Kenmare; whether it was true that the police made a gross and wanton attack with drawn swords on a peaceable crowd, with the result that several persons were more or less seriously injured; and, whether such attacks on Irish crowds were to form part of the policy of Her Majesty's Government during the corning winter?
§ THE CHIEF SECRETARY (Mr. A. J. BALFOUR) (Manchester, E.)
No Report has yet been received with regard to the alleged attack on the people in Kenmare.
