HC Deb 15 August 1887 vol 319 c475
MR. PORTMAN (Dorsetshire, N.)

asked the Vice President of the Committee of Council on Education, Whether, taking into consideration that the Milton Abbas School, Blandford, has now been closed for 10 years, and that the Scheme of the Endowed Schools Commissioners, for establishing in lieu thereof a girls' school, has met with general disapprobation in Blandford and the neighbourhood, he will take some steps to secure that the school shall speedily be re-opened for boys as in former years?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Mr. GOSCHEN) (St. George's, Hanover Square)

, in reply, said, he was aware that a great deal of dissatisfaction existed in the neighbourhood of Blandford with regard to the scheme referred to, and he was now in consultation with the Commissioners as to what steps should be given.
