O'CONNOR (Tipperary, S.)asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether it is a Rule of the Irish Constabulary Force that no member of the Force shall apply for any Civil position while receiving the pay or discharging the duties of a constable; whether Head Constable Irvine, of Cork, has applied for, and obtained, the appointment of station master of the Cork and Muskerry Light Railway, while still performing the duties of a Head Constable of Police at Cork; and, whether he will inquire into the case; and, if an infraction of the Rule has taken place, state what action he will take in the matter?
