asked the Secretary to the Board of Trade, Whether he had any communication to mate to the House with reference to the Midland Hallway strike?

I think that, having regard to the great importance of the subject, the House will he glad to hear that the Board of Trade has received an assurance from the Midland Railway Company that every possible precaution has been taken to secure the safety of the travelling public, that no casualty of any kind has taken place, that many of the men are returning to duty, and that the principal passenger traffic has been conducted with regularity.
