HC Deb 04 August 1887 vol 318 c1147
MR. BRADLAUGH (Northampton)

asked the Surveyor General of Ordnance, Whether It. Langton was, on the 4th February, whilst properly working in the Small Arms Factory, Enfield, permanently injured on the eye by a chip of hot gun-metal from the lathe of a fellow workman; and, whether R. Langton has, in consequence of his being so injured, been offered a reduced wage—i.e., 22s. 6d. per week, in lieu of 36s. per week?

THE SURVEYOR GENERAL (Mr. NORTHCOTE) (Exeter)

My noble Friend the Member for the Enfield Division (Viscount Folkestone) has already brought this case to the notice of the Secretary of State. The facts are substantially as stated. The question of compensation is still under the consideration of the Treasury; and I propose to make personal inquiry into the case.
