asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, The number of men who have joined the Royal Irish Constabulary during the last three years; how many of them are Protestants; and, how many Roman Catholics?

(who replied) said: 1,308 men have joined during the last three years. Of these 460 are Protestants, and 818 Roman Catholics.
