HC Deb 25 April 1887 vol 313 c1799
MR. LEGH (Lancashire, S.W., Newton)

asked the Under Secretary of State for India, If he is able to give any information respecting the recent disturbances in Afghanistan?

THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE (Sir JOHN GORST) (Chatham)

The information received at the India Office tends to show that the insurrectionary movement among the Ghilzais against the authority of the Ameer is not spreading, and that the Ameer's troops have been successful in the engagements they have had with the rebels.
