HC Deb 18 April 1887 vol 313 c1106
MR. J. E. ELLIS (Nottingham, Rushcliffe)

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether he can state the number of persons who have been evicted on the estates of the Marquess of Lansdowne in Queen's County since 1st March, 1887; and, the total extra cost of the Constabulary employed in connection with such evictions?

THE PARLIAMENTARY UNDER SECRETARY FOR IRELAND (Colonel KING-HARMAN) (Kent, Isle of Thanet)

(who replied) said: I am informed that there were two tenants evicted, which also necessitated the eviction of 16 subtenants with their families, or in all 100 persons. The extra cost of the Constabulary employed was £413.
