PINKERTON (Galway)asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether Mr. Kelly, Clerk of Petty Sessions at Toomebridge, County Antrim, when appointed two years ago, gave an undertaking in writing that he would reside in the district before he was elected by the magistrates; whether the said Mr. Kelly has recently been appointed Clerk of Petty Sessions for the district of Mahera and Magherafelt, and whether he will now be able to fulfil his engagement; and, whether he is aware that serious public inconvenience will result from there being only one clerk in these three populous districts, the extremes of which are so far distant from each other, and situated in different counties?
