HC Deb 21 September 1886 vol 309 cc1095-6
MR. MACDONALD CAMERON (Wick, &c.)

asked Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Whether Her Majesty's Government propose to alter the constitution of the Body known as the Charity Commissioners, by the infusion of Commissioners representative of the ratepayers, with a view of dealing with great endowments like Christ's Hospital, St. Paul's School, Charterhouse, Eton, and other endowments?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Lord RANDOLPH CHURCHILL) (Paddington, S.)

I have no reason to suppose that Her Majesty's Government have any such intention as the hon. Member appears to wish that they should have in regard to the constitution of the Charity Commission.
