HC Deb 20 September 1886 vol 309 c983
MR. SHIRLEY (Yorkshire, W.R., Doncaster)

asked Mr. Attorney General, Whether the Government would consider the advisability of bringing in a Bill to establish a Court of Criminal Appeal, so that innocent persons might have greater security than at present?

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL (Sir RICHARD WEBSTER) (Isle of Wight)

The question of the establishment of a Court of Criminal Appeal is undoubtedly one of very great importance; and Her Majesty's Government will certainly consider whether it will be in their power to bring in a Bill to deal with the matter.
