HC Deb 14 September 1886 vol 309 cc346-7
MR. LEWIS (Londonderry)

asked, When the Government proposed to proceed with the Irish Constabulary Vote?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Lord RANDOLPH CHURCHILL) (Paddington, S.)

It depends on what progress we may make. We did not do much good last night by altering the usual course of Supply; and, therefore, we will adhere regularly to the Votes as they stand in the Civil Service Estimates, with the exception of the Irish Constabulary Vote, an arrangement having been entered into with respect to it; but the time for taking it I cannot yet fix.
