HC Deb 14 September 1886 vol 309 cc345-6
MR. PINKERTON (Galway)

asked the Secretary to the Treasury, If he can state the reason why Colonel Smith, R.E., did not include the Bowling Green Mills, Galway, in his Report to the Treasury in 1879; whether Colonel Smith was precluded by his instructions from inquiring into the case of those mills; and, whether the Treasury is prepared to lay Colonel Smith's Report upon the Table of the House?

THE SECRETARY (Mr. JACKSON) (Leeds, N.)

, in reply, said, the Question had only appeared on the Paper that morning, and as it related to matters, information about which would have to be obtained from Dublin, he was unable to answer it. He was informed, however, that the Question had been considered before; and if the hon. Member desired it he would make further inquiry, and communicate the result to the hon. Member.

MR. PINKERTON

said, he would repeat the Question on Thursday.
