§ MR. RUSTON (Lincoln)asked the Civil Lord of the Admiralty, If he can state when he will be prepared to lay upon the Table of the House his promised Return of the guns which are being prepared wherewith to arm the war ships now being built; and, whether in this Return he will give,—1st. The size of the guns; 2nd. The ships (by name) for which they are intended; 3rd. Where each gun is being constructed?
§ THE CIVIL LORD (Mr. R. W. DUFF) (Banffshire)I hope to lay the Return of the guns, which are being prepared for the war ships now being built, on the Table in a day or two. It will give the number and size of the guns and where they are being constructed; but the Admiralty do not consider that it is desirable, in the interests of the Service, to give the names of the ships for which the guns are intended.
