HC Deb 04 March 1886 vol 302 cc1890-1
COLONEL NOLAN

asked the Secretary to the Treasury, Has he registered a short telegraphic address for the House of Commons; and, if not, can he do so?

THE SECRETARY TO THE TREASURY (Mr. HENRY H. FOWLER)

No address has as yet been registered for the House of Commons. But "House Commons, London," is sufficient address. ["Oh, oh!"] I would not forejudge the case as to whether that may not be shortened; but I think it is not necessary to add anything more at the present time, as the Postmaster General is considering the matter, and in a few days it will be seen what can be done.

DR. CAMERON

Could you not say, Sir, "Short Commons?"
