Friend the Chief Secretary for Ireland, that on Thursday next he will move for leave to introduce a Bill for the purpose of suppressing the National League and other dangerous associations, for the prevention of intimidation, and for the protection of life, property, and public order in Ireland. In the event of the debate on the Address in reply to Her Majesty's Gracious Speech not being concluded before Thursday, it will be my duty to move the postponement of the Orders of the Day in order to give my right hon. Friend an opportunity of bringing forward his Motion; and we shall ask the House to give precedence to this measure on every day on which it may be set down. It is our intention, Sir, to follow this measure by a Bill dealing with the Land Question, pursuing in a more extensive sense the policy indicated by the Land Purchase Act of last Session.
