HC Deb 22 February 1886 vol 302 c876
BARON HENRY DE WORMS

I beg to give Notice that on Thursday I shall ask the President of the Local Government Board, Whether he has seen the following passage in Mr. Burns' speech in Hyde Park yesterday at a meeting of the Social Democratic Federation:— You are told by Mr. Chamberlain that the day has come when property should pay ransom to those from whom property has been stolen; and, whether the quotation is correct, and conveys the views expressed by the right hon. Gentleman?

THE PRESIDENT (Mr. JOSEPH CHAMBERLAIN)

I will spare the hon. Member the trouble of putting the Question down. The quotation is not correct.
