HC Deb 30 August 1886 vol 308 cc782-3
SIR HENRY TYLER (Great Yarmouth)

asked the First Commissioner of Works, When it is intended that Westminster Hall should be again opened to the public; and, whether it is first to be redecorated; and, if so, when that work will be commenced and when it is expected to be completed?

THE FIRST COMMISSIONER (Mr. PLUNKET) (Dublin University)

Westminster Hall was closed and has been kept closed by the advice of the Home Office, and my right hon. Friend the present Home Secretary informs me that he cannot at present sanction any departure from the existing regulations. The question of redecorating the Hall has not, so far as I am aware, been under consideration.
