asked the Secretary of State for War, When it is the intention of the authorities to promote Lieutenant W. H. Malcolmson, of the Cavan Militia, to the rank of Captain; and, whether the fact of his having recently married without his commanding officer's consent is any bar to such promotion?

, in reply, said, Lieutenant W. H. Malcolmson was promoted on the 17th instant. His promotion appeared in The Gazette of that day, two days before the Notice of the hon. Member's Question was given.
