HC Deb 16 April 1886 vol 304 c1766
MR. JONES-PARRY (&c.) Carnarvon,

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether Her Majesty's Government will introduce a Bill having for its intention the designation of a chairman or minister of a Nonconformist Body or Church as a Corporation Sole, and with the object of more expeditiously and at a lesser expense of obtaining a conveyance of any land as a site for a church or any buildings or lands in trust in connection therewith, and thereby to obviate the necessity of a conveyance to a large body of trustees and the incidental expense of the appointment of new trustees?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE (Mr. CHILDERS) (Edinburgh, S.)

In reply to my hon. Friend, I have to say that I should be glad to facilitate any arrangement which would diminish the expense of transferring property held by Nonconformists on the death or resignation of a trustee; but I do not think it would be possible to make every minister a Corporation Sole.
