§ MR. CAMPBELL-BANNERMANThe power of the Local Government Board in the circumstances referred to is limited to directing a local inquiry if they think it necessary. There have only been two cases in which the Board have received remonstrances against the decision of the Guardians; and after correspondence they have not thought it necessary to take any further action.
