§ SIR EDWARD WATKINasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether he is aware that the 1844 woman Johnson, sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment for the alleged abduction of the daughter of the widow of a labouring man named Hearnden, of Acrise, in the parish of Folkestone, is about to leave prison; and, whether he has ordered any steps, and, if so, what, to be taken, in order to trace out the still missing child?
§ SIR WILLIAM HARCOURTWith regard to the first part of this Question, I am informed that the prisoner will not be discharged till July. Every effort has been made by the police to find the missing child, both at home and abroad, but without success. The police are not of opinion that a reward should be issued.
