HC Deb 04 May 1885 vol 297 cc1495-6
MR. T. D. SULLIVAN

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, If it is true that police protection has been granted to a man named Fagan who has lately taken a farm at Marlinstown, near Mullingar; and, if so, in what manner will the cost of the protective force be charged?

MR. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN

Police protection has been given in this case, and it is considered absolutely necessary. The men form part of the free force of the county.
