HC Deb 04 May 1885 vol 297 c1505
VISCOUNT LEWISHAM

asked the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether it is a fact that, in deference to the opposition of the Russian Government, Her Majesty's Ministers have abandoned the plan of occupying Port Hamilton near the Corea?

MR. GLADSTONE

I have only to repeat the answer which I gave the other day on this subject—namely, that no communications have taken place upon this subject between the two Governments of Great Britain and Russia.
