HC Deb 10 March 1885 vol 295 c611
CAPTAIN PRICE

asked the Secretary to the Admiralty, Whether the Admiralty have been furnished with a Report of the results of experiments recently carried out at Eastney Fort, Southsea, with a view to ascertaining the effect of shells exploding on armoured decks of ships; whether he would inform the House of the result of those experiments; and, whether he has any objection to lay the Report upon the Table of the House?

SIR THOMAS BEASSEY

The latest trials took place in December, 1883. If these are the trials to which the hon. and gallant Member refers there will be no objection to make the results public.
