MR. SEXTON moved— That the Select Committee on Standing Orders consist of Twelve Members:—That Mr. EDMOND DWYER GRAY be added to the Committee.

The hon. Member said that in making the Motion he wished to thank the right hon. Gentleman the Member for the University of Oxford (Sir John R. Mowbray) for the considerate attention he had paid to the wishes of the Irish Members on this subject.

SIR JOHN R. MOWBRAY

said, that, in assenting to the Motion on the present occasion, he by no means wished to be understood as concurring in the opinion that it would be desirable permanently to increase the numbers of the Committee of Selection.
