§ SIR HENEY TYLERasked the Secretary of State for War, Whether any Despatch was received from General Gordon stating the reasons why Colonel Stewart and his companions left Khartoum; and, if so, whether he would have any objection to make that Despatch public, or to state the contents of it?
THE MARQUESS OF HARTINGTONI have not had time to look fully into the matter. I believe that some despatches which were among the Papers laid on the Table last night contained a statement by General Gordon with reference to the departure of Colonel Stewart and his companions from Khartoum. I am not quite certain, however, whether this was the case or not.
§ SIR HENRY TYLERI will repeat the Question on Monday.
