CALLAN,who had a Notice on the Paper for Returns of Reports by Mr. Batchelor, of the Solicitors' Department of the Treasury, and by Inspector Minahan, relative to the case of Mrs. Jeffries—asked the hon. Member for Preston, Whether he would be kind enough to withdraw his Notice of oppo- 1871 sition; and, further, whether he had put down that Notice in the interests of the late Home Secretary or in the interests of Mrs. Jeffries?
