HC Deb 30 April 1885 vol 297 c1111
MR. BIGGAR

asked the Postmaster General, Whether sub-constable Thomas Donnelly stationed at Carrickmore, county Tyrone, has purchased a farm in the locality and applied for the mastership of Mountfield Post Office, he being still a member of the Royal Irish Constabulary?

MR. SHAW LEFEVRE

In reply to the hon. Member, I have to say that the nomination for this office does not rest with me, but with the Patronage Secretary to the Treasury. I can inform the hon. Member that the noble Lord has not yet made any appointment to the office, and, I believe, does not contemplate giving it to the officer to whom the hon. Member refers.
