HC Deb 27 April 1885 vol 297 cc936-7
MR. SEXTON

asked the right hon-Gentleman the Postmaster General if he could state the amount of money proposed to be expended in England, Scotland, and Ireland, under the Bill?

MR. SHAW LEFEVRE

said, he could not state exactly what the amounts would he; but he believed it would be about £350,000 for the purchase of sites and buildings in London. The other objects of the Bill would probably be covered by £30,000 or £40,000.

Considered in Committee.

(In the Committee.)

Resolved, That it is expedient to authorise the payment, out of moneys to be provided by Parliament, of sums required for the purchase of lands, and for the costs and expenses which may be incurred by the Postmaster General in carrying into effect the provisions of any Act of the present Session to enable Her Majesty's Postmaster General to acquire lands for the public service.

Resolution to be reported To-morrow.
