HC Deb 20 April 1885 vol 297 c143
MR. GOURLEY

asked the Secretary to the Admiralty, Whether it is the intention of Her Majesty's Government to recommend that the Naval Artillery Volunteers shall be allowed a capitation grant, similar in amount to that which is now paid to the Volunteer Auxiliaries; and, whether it is intended that they shall be transferred from Admiralty control to that of the War Office?

SIR THOMAS BRASSEY

I much regret that I cannot yet announce any decision on this subject. The Admiralty highly appreciate the services of the Volunteers, and they have received with much gratification satisfactory reports as to their efficiency, both in their drills and when serving afloat.
