HC Deb 27 October 1884 vol 293 c255
COLONEL NOLAN

asked the Postmaster General, If, considering the very unsatisfactory state of the Mail Service to the West of Ireland, he could arrange to run a train leaving Dublin at 8 a.m., reaching Galway in three hours and a-half, and stopping at Mullingar, Athlone, Ballinasloe, and Athenry only?

MR. FAWCETT

I can assure the hon. Member and others who are interested in the question of accelerating the mails to Galway and Sligo and the West of Ireland generally, that it has not been lost sight of by the Department. Negotiations are now proceeding, and directly I am in a position to come to a decision I will make it known to the hon. Members who are interested in the locality.
